Mash up video

We finally finished the mash ups.It was very hard but we finally did it. I chose Karins' video because I really liked it. I like all the effects that he put in it. Also, it in my opinion it even sounded like if he did his own song. The only thing I didn't like was his transition. It didn't go as smooth as all the other part of the song. I really liked this video, good job Karin!

Danger Mouse

Danger Mouse or his real name Brian Joseph Burton was born July 29, 1997. He is a song writer and producer. He is a Grammy Award winner. He came to prominence in 2004 when he released the Grey Album. This album combined different Capella songs. In my opinion all the laws of a song were broken there. I really liked this because I like new things. A mash-up are two or more songs combined to make a new song. There are many artists that make several mash ups and that are good. A linked to a song that I really liked is DJ EARWORM. There are many great artists out there that do great mash-ups, they just need to be discovered.

Earth Day Vanishing Species

The extinction of species around the world has become very severe. Many species have disappeared from the face of the Earth because of us. Species that have been more time here than us and oppose no thread are killed with no reason. Many species support the ecosystem, if you vanish one the whole ecosystem will be affected. We think we have the right to kill them, but we actually don´t. They don´t deserve to die just because we say so. We kill them just to later on put up a shopping mall or something that benefits us. The extinctions of many species is destroying this world, and who gave us the right to do that?

I chose this topic for many reasons. Not many people know about this. They just think just because they are animals, they don´t do anything worthy. Also, the people that do know about this don´t care. They think that it doesn´t matter, if it doesn´t make a profit, then it doesn´t deserve to live. Then, they simple try to make up their mistakes by hiding it from the people. Many people are trying to save species in danger like The Siberian Tiger, which we have almost completely wiped out. This topic really means a lot to me.

Many species have vanished from the face of the Earth because of us. Some species like The Golden Toad. This frog was killed because of deforestation. Animals are connected to everything, they balance the ecosystem. If we kill one, many other animals will die because we are interfering with nature. We just think of our selves and then after everything we realize the wrong we did, but there is nothing we can do about it. A lot of species have disappeared because of our mistakes.

Some people try to save these species. It´s good to hear that some people actually know and do something about it. Some societies like in Africa, in the Safaris. The people give their life to protect the animals from hunters. The do not interfere with their lifes, they just watch over them for any harm that can come to them by the human hand. Also, some zoos take care of them. Many species that are endangered are kept in the zoos protection. Many people are taking care of these animals so they don´t vanish.

Roto Ball

For my Roto Ball video I have some ideas that I think are cool. One of the things is that I'm going to add some video game style. This will be difficult for many reasons. I'll have to create some original video game stuff because a lot of people have done the same. In my background I will have some destroyed peices of buildings. Another thing I'm going to add is some sport. I think I'll put a basketball net, but it would look very wierd. I would have to think of something that is both videogameish and sportish. Those are the things that I would use for my Roto Ball.

This is a good representation because you can see on the sides the numbers and the colores of the lines. Then, the background below the lines are also very helpfull.

I like this chart because the line shows when and where I whent up and when I whent up. Also the colors are very helipful in identifing anything.

I chose this chart because everything is arranged by date. Everything is together from the first day to the last day I took the tests.

Medium selection

For my stop-motion project I will do it by pencil. I chose this because for my object, it would be easier. If I did it in plasticine, it would take years to complete it. Before, I thought in plasticine, but like I said it wouldn't work. Another thing I considered was doing it of LEGO. This was my idea for a long time but it would have looked very weird. In my opinion the hardest challenge will be to erase and to do it all over again. I think that sometime I will draw it very different form the first one. Thta's what I'm going to do for my medium.

Stop Motion

Stop-motion, is an art for me, because it takes time and patience to make one. f I had to describe what it meant, I would say that its a number of photos that are put together to for a sequence. It gives the viewer an awesome movie. It also is a little bit weird because everything looks like a robot. I think some people would create videos like this to entertain and to show their ideas. The steps to create a video like this is to first get your idea. Then, start taking photos of every small movement it does. Then, put them together to create a film. Stop-motion is a very interesting thing to do.

LEGO

William Kentridge

William Kentridge work, leaves me doubtful. I say this because I really don't know how he does it, even though it tells me. Another thing is that all the images make me feel weird. But, still I like the effects that he uses. If I had to describe his work to a blind I would do it like this. I would tell him that the technique is drwing and erasing a lot of times. Then, that everything is without color and the details are not perfect. Then, I would tell him how the images look and what they represent. That's how Williams work makes me feel and how I would describe it to a blind man.

The process taht he used is very complicated. He first thinks of the ideas and how he is going to do it. After he has the ideas he starts drawing scene, which he takes a picture of. Then, he erases it and takes another picture. So he goes on many times until he has kind of like a movie. During the process of erasing, he doesn´t erase everything, he only erases part of it and takes a picture. Sometimes he can combine the original scene with a new one. This is the process of how he mikes his stop-motion art works.

Definition for Mash-up: A mash up is a song or composition created by blending two or more pre-recorded songs, usually by overlaying the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the instrumental track of another.

Mash-up is great thing to do, and it sounds awesome. In my opinion, for a good mash-up, you should choose the right songs. Also, have a steady beat that goes with those songs. Some ways you can make a mash-up go horrible, is by choosing songs that don´t have anything in common. Another thing is choosing the right lyrics to pull out form the song, and combine them. It should sound fluently and nice. I think that people that make up mash-ups are real musicians. One reason for that is that no everybody can do a mash-up. It takes time and you need to know a lot of music. Also, they are using an instrument, computers, and even in other, they take real instruments in, like the drums. Mash-ups are great, if you know how to do one.

Artifact from the future

This project was very fun and frustrating at the same time. First, I liked and disliked a lot of things in my project. I liked how I did both photo shop tutorials. One example is the "devil eye' I think I did a great job on that. Another thing is looking for the right background to use. It took me like half a class just to find the "perfect" picture. But, there are some things I dislike and could improve in my work. One example of this is the lion, it was very difficult and I tried my best, but I could not do it the same as the tutorial. So, if I had maybe two classes more, I could make it much better. That's waht I think about my work.

In my opinion, this artifact made by Ray is very good. This project had a lot of cool stuff in it. I liked this artifact because its something to drink, and not a machine. Another cool thing I like about this project is that is for your own good. It´s not to make things be like you want them to be, it´s for your own. I liked how he made the glass phosphorescent, it gives it a cool touch. This is a skill which I like and would like to learn. This is my feed back to Ray Gibson about his awesome artifact.

If this artifact was ever invented, I would buy it. My first reason, would be that it tells how the PP of something, which is good. I would completely like and buy this when it came out. In my opinion, I think it will come out in my life time. There are already things that measure it, why not putting it in a glass. This artifact could change the way people live because, now they will no how much PP they are drinking. You don´t want to drink mortal acid, so that think will tell you. I wish this artifact would come in the future.

Artefact from the future

Future

I chose a thing, where humans and animals can live together. I will do like a city, in one side of the road animals, and in the other one, humans. I chose this because I find it interesting. It isn't such and easy project as it seems, in my opinion. Also, because that would be so awesome! My vision like I already said, are animals and humans together. No conflicts, just walking side by side with each other. This is what I will do or at least I will try to do it.

family reunion

The best family reunion already happened to me. This happened at my grandmothers 80th birthday party. It happened in Austria, where all my family lives. It was in a small restaurant, a very significative restaurant for my grandmother, where this family reunion happened. All the family came, even the ones I did not know came. We started talking, and then we had to speak some words about my grandmother including me. After that we started eating, very typical food for there. At the end we all danced the traditional dances of Austria. Finally, the only person who was never thought to come, the president of Austria came to congratulate her for having got to 80 years. This was the best family reunion I would wish and would have ever gotten.

Frames

I chose some frames because of a specific reason. The frame at the right, is the frame I'm using for my brother and me. I chose it because we have almost the same frame at home both my brothers face and mine. This frame will be located at the bottom of the tree because that's where I'm going to start the family.


The frame at the right is the one I'm going to use for my parents and their brothers. I chose this frame with no reason, to be honest. I just chose it because it looked good and it was the only frame that looked good with the dimensions of the pictures. This frame will be at the top of my brother and me. This are my reasons because I chose this frame.


The frame at the left is the one I'm going to use for my grandparents and my uncles. I chose this one because it looks antique and my grandparents are old. This frame is going to be at the top because that's where all my grandparents and uncles will be. Also, this frame remembers me of old times, when my grandparents were young. This is why I chose this frame.

Family Tree

This tree means a lot to me because it reminds me of Europe. In Europe, is where my whole family is. In winter every tree looked like that, even in my grandparents garden. This is not a regular for tree for me. This reminds me completely about my family. Also, I chose this picture because I remmember playing under a snow white tree the first time I whent to Europe.For me this is the best tree ever. This are my reasons of choosing this tree.

J.O.Y.

Something I just did was playing with my friends. First, I ate all my lunch. Second, I started to play with Santiago football. Then, we got bored because the ball kept on going out of the field. Also, because the grass was very wet. Then, we started playing a volleyball kind of game. We started playing and then all the others came. At the end all eight and ninth grade came and played. That was a thing I just did.

One thing that I would like to do for my self is to get a massage. The reason of that is because yesterday I hurt my self in the gym. I was pulling my self up a bar and then a crunching sounded. It came from my bones! It was so painful I couldn't move so they had to carry me to a booth. Then, thetrainer gave me a massage which only made it worth. My mom had to come for me very worried about me. This is why I want a massage.

A part of me that makes me very special is that I play the drums and I am very intelligent. Every day I practice playing in my room with the drums. I started when I was 12, I'm now 13. I don´t know many people that play the drums. I love practicing every day, but I do it as a hobby. I´m intelligent because i go in advance math and that is a very big achievement. These are some parts that make me unique.

Spring MAP testing

Last week, we took another MAP testing, which I hate. Like I said all ready, I hate them, you can't do anything! I keep thinking the same way I did in the October MAP post. I still would change every single thing, like letting students use Ipods during the test. I'm not very happy with my score, because I just beat one of my scores. Also, in the math test, it only asked me like 4th and 5th grade stuff, which I don''t remember. The most frustrating thing, is when you don't finish the test and you have to miss a class to do it, so you need to do all the homework by your own. This is what I think about the MAP tests.

Presentation grading

Today in class, we did some presentations in groups. My presentation was called How to Survive 7th Grade. I think I did pretty well, but I could do things better. I could have used more pictures and used more creative fonds. I also should have memorized it better, some 3o min. of practice would have done. Then, I cheked a presentation and gave it a grade. I really liked the presentation my friend gave. He used very interesting stuff, but sometimes you couldn't understand anything. After all he got a good grade. In conclusion, seeing and presenting was very fun.

One day I was with a sales person, who had to do a presentation and showed it to me. The presentation was about the rate of selling steel. It started good, but then, it whent from worse to horrible. Suddenly, the font was unreadable, and the backround was dark blue, and the font was black. There were some errors, like "teached" and some unexisting words. Also, he put all the graphs together, so you didn't understand anything. I had to tell him that hes presentation was not very good, it was boring. That was the time I saw a Powerpint with a lot of errors.
